Meet Our Governors
The main concern of the Governors is the well-being of the children and staff in the school; in particular, they challenge and support the Head Teacher and staff as they work to raise educational standards and achievement.
Governors are volunteers, representing different groups in the community with interests in the success of the school, including parents, staff and the Solihull Local Education Authority. As we are a church school, local churches and the Diocese are also represented. Governors bring a variety of useful skills, particularly in the areas of finance, buildings, staffing and the curriculum, for which there are committees.
The Head Teacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school. The Governing Body sets the strategic direction, making decisions on matters like the school’s policies, performance targets, improvement plan and budget. Then they monitor progress and the use made of its resources, including its finances. They respond to recommendations of inspectors.
The Governing Body and the committees meet formally twice a term and additional meetings are held when appropriate. They report to parents and the wider community on the school’s achievements.
We have four sub-committee groups: 1) Curriculum & Scrutiny 2) Safeguarding 3) Staffing, Premises and Finance 4) Ethos and Community.
