During the Spring term, Year 4 have some very exciting topics to cover in all areas of the curriculum. They have been looking at the new history topic 1066. Through this topic, the children will debate who should be the next King and what qualities they possess to become King. The children will also be looking at the battle of Hastings and the Norman culture.
In Maths this term, the children will be looking at multiplying one digit by two digits using the formula method. Children throughout the term will also be learning about how to divide with remainders. We would like to ask could everyone please continue to practice their times table facts on TTRockstars or hit the button.
In Science, children are looking at sound waves and how they travel in the air as well as how they travel through the ear. In Literacy, children are learning the story map Zelda Claw and the Rain Cat. Children will be discussing characters, events and will be focussing on a variety of punctuation. During Guided reading, the children are enjoying the story Varjak Paw. The children are going to be making predictions on what is going to happen, inferring how the characters are feeling as well as focussing on new vocabulary and retrieving information using the text.
