In English and through Talk for Writing, we have been looking at the features and structure of a finding table. In the second half of this term we will be writing a poem which will include rhyming couplets and descriptive language.
This term we have studied multiplication and division. During the last two weeks, we have been learning about fractions. We can recognise half and a quarter of shapes. After half term, we will focus on measure. The children will look at weight, length and time.
Our topic this term has been plants. We have named the parts of the plants and know why each part is important. The children explored how light impacts on how seeds grow. After half term, we are learning about animals. We will look at how animals are adapted to their environments and create a simple food chain.
The children have looked at giving. We have explored how Christians and Jews follow the rules given to them by God. Next half term, we are learning about the faith of Islam and Hinduism.
In Geography, we have been exploring our locality by looking at maps and taking virtual walks. The children have compared Chelmsley Wood today and in the past. Next half term, our topic is beachcombers. The children will develop their knowledge of coastal features and link this to their Science topic and current environmental issues.
