“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Spring Term

Nursery are beginning this term by looking at the topic of Traditional Tales. We will be looking at a different Traditional Tale each week, such as The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Gingerbread Man. We are looking forward to using this topic to develop our language and story telling skills, our counting skills and our understanding of the world around us. We will also be doing other exciting things such as taste testing porridge, building houses and bridges out of different materials and baking our very own gingerbread men.

After half-term we will move onto the topic of "Are eggs alive?" where we will be focusing on the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar as well as looking at the lifecycles of various animals. This topic will also allow us to learn all about Easter!

Autumn Term

Currently in Nursery we are learning about the changing seasons, with a focus on the Autumn season. The children have enjoyed exploring the outdoor areas, experiencing the changes in weather and discovering different natural objects. We have been enjoying reading the stories of 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt', 'The Gruffalo' and 'The Foggy Foggy Forest'. We went on an Autumn walk to find signs of the changing seasons, we enjoyed collecting lots of crunchy brown, orange and red leaves, pinecones, sticks and conkers! Soon we will be making our very own chocolate conkers to eat! In the coming weeks we will be exploring Autumn vegetables such as pumpkins - we will be developing our motor skills by scooping out the insides, feeling the different textures and even chopping up some pumpkin to cook and taste.

After half-term we will move on to looking at the Winter season, we are hoping for some snow this year!
